BOLLORE ACQUIRES AMI FROM COMPAGNIE MARITIME BELGE
Bollore, the French conglomerate that owns SDV, Delmas and SAGA, has
acquired AMI, the African port agency and forwarding subsidiary of Compagnie Maritime
Belge.
The terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
AMI employs about 3,000 people in 12 African countries and had sales of
more than 1 billion French francs ($180 million) last year.
The Bollore group, already one of the largest transport and forwarding
operators in Africa, said that the acquisition will strenghten its port and inland
activities throughout Africa.
