Bollore plans to double Abidjan capacity by 2015

France’s Bollore Group plans to invest $79 million to improve infrastructure and double container terminal capacity by 2015 at the Port of Abidjan in the Ivory Coast, the company said Monday.
Abidjan is the second largest port in West Africa, after Lagos, but facilities are in need of an upgrade after neglect due to a decade of political turmoil, according to the group.
Bollore, which took over management of the terminal in 2004, plans to increase capacity from the current 800,000 TEUs to 1.5 million TEUs by 2015.
