BONANZA EXPRESS OFFERS HIGH-SPEED BAHAMAS SERVICE
Fred Olsen Express LLC has started a high speed service between the Port of Miami and Freeport, Grand Bahamas, using a catamaran vessel which operates at faster than 36 knots.
The daily shuttle provides a three-hour transit time and can carry 630 passengers as well as up to 250 vehicles and trucks or 16 TEUs of cargo each way.
Farovi Shipping Corp., which has a 30-year relationship with Fred Olsen, is the shipping agent for the service.
The fast service is aimed primarily at moving goods to Freeport, said Richard Rovirosa, vice president for Farovi.
