Booth receives ALTA Bloch award

Booth receives ALTA Bloch award AvGroup Chairman Robert Booth has been awarded the 2007 Federico Bloch Award presented by the Latin America and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA).
   The award is presented to a leader in the Latin America-Caribbean aviation industry that 'exemplifies the leadership, courage, character and vision' of the late Bloch.

   Booth, who was born in Brazil and raised in Uruguay, has headed up the consulting firm and trade publishing company and the AvGroup umbrella for 19 years, and worked for several airlines dating back to 1950.
   'No one deserves this recognition more than Bobby,' said Pedro Heibron, ALTA president and Copa Airlines chief executive officer. 'Bobby's contributions to the Latin America and Caribbean aviation industry over the past 57 years have truly been outstanding. He has been an instrumental spokesman for the region's air transport industry and a key force in promoting cooperation and union of the region's airlines.'
   In addition to the Bloch award, ALTA presented Chile's Santiago Airport with the 2007 Rolim Amaro Award, which honors the airport judged as having the best service, planning operations and financial management.
