Brazil airline going international The Brazilian airline Ocean Air Linhas Aereas plans to begin offering its first international flights this year to meet demand created by cuts in flights by Brazil's established but troubled carrier Varig, which is emerging from bankruptcy.
   Ocean Air has not plans for flights to Florida at this time, but plans to enter into the international market with flights to Bogata, Colombia and Los Angeles, according to a report in the Miami Herald. The airline has also applied for permission to offer flights to Lima, Peru and Caracas, Venezuela.
   Ocean Air is historically a regional carrier. It is smaller than Gol Linhas Aereas, which is the largest carrier by market value since the collapse of Varig. A Varig employee group recently received approval from a bankruptcy court judge to purchase the traditional flagship airline.
