Brazil shuts down Cargill port facility    Brazilian authorities have closed a deepwater Amazon River port owned by U.S. agricultural products giant Cargill Inc.
   The soy export terminal has been the site of protests by environmental groups who say the facility is encouraging soy farming and logging activities that will cause harm to the river and surrounding forests.
   Opponents of the soy-related activities asked a Brazilian court to shut down the operation, and a judge ruled last week that the company did not have the right federal environmental permits needed to operate.
   Cargill said it would appeal the decision, noting that when the facility was built, the required permits were issued by the state, and the company obtained those permits.
