Brightstar VP to discuss æOne Laptop per ChildÆ
Kevin Barry, Brightstar Corp. senior vice president of global operations, will be the featured speaker at a Central America-U.S. Chamber of Commerce luncheon Feb. 6 at the Hyatt Regency Coral Gables.
Barry will give a presentation on the growth of wireless communication in Latin America, as well as the 'One Laptop per Child' initiative, an educational assistance program designed for developing countries. The nonprofit organization, originally created by faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab, has since gained the backing of several major corporate sponsors, including Brightstar.
Miami-based Brightstar provides logistical and supply chain management services for the wireless telecommunications industry.
