British Airways transfers Texas flights from Gatwick to Heathrow

British Airways on Friday switched its Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston flights from Gatwick to Heathrow.

The airline will continue to operate one daily Boeing 777 service from Dallas-Fort Worth and two daily 777 flights from Houston. Initially, services will operate to London Heathrow's Terminal 4, with flights moving to the new Terminal 5 from April 30.

British Airways said the move to Heathrow will give its U.S. cargo customers access to its global network, serving 200 destinations across 80 countries.

'This is an important move for many of our customers who can now take immediate advantage of our global network from our hub at Heathrow,' said David Shepherd, vice president of sales and international customer service the Americas. 'With an unrivalled 18 gateways in the U.S. and 40 flights per day, we are confident that the switch will be beneficial for all, enabling faster connection times to destinations across the globe.'
