Dumas, a 30-year veteran of the Canadian maritime transportation industry, takes over from current port president and CEO Bill Mills on Jan. 15.
Most recently, Dumas served an eight-year stint as general manager of sales and marketing for China Shipping (Canada) Agency Co., the Canadian subsidiary of China Shipping Container Line.
The mainly bulk commodity port of Nanaimo is located on British Columbia's Vancouver Island, about 35 miles west of Vancouver, B.C.
