Broadley named CLECAT president

CLECAT, the European association for forwarding, transport, logistics and customs services, has appointed Clive Broadley to president.

Brussels-based CLECAT's membership comprises most of the national freight forwarder associations throughout the European Union. Its major purpose is to guard and promote the freight forwarding sector's interests at the European level.

Broadley takes over for Jean-Claude Delen, who stepped down as a result of his recent election to president of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, better known as FIATA.

Broadley has more than 40 years experience in the forwarding industry, and previously served as chairman of the British International Freight Association (BIFA). He continues to serve on BIFA's board.

'Clive's appointment is important as it helps to strengthen BIFA's influence and involvement in this organization and facilitates contacts with important stakeholders, of the benefit of our members,' said Peter Quantrill, BIFA director general, in a statement.
