BSI acquires SCSD, C.I.

BSI acquires SCSD, C.I.    BSI Group, an international business services organization, has acquired Supply Chain Security Division, a division of First Advantage in the United States.
   SCSD provides customized supply chain security service to help mitigate risk. Its programs take into account numerous factors including threat level, cargo type and transportation mode. BSI said it would integrate SCSD's applications with its own assessment services and software.
   BSI also announced the acquisition of the Italian arm of Certification International (C.I.), which provides certification in Italy to the international quality management standard, ISO 9001, and the international environmental management standard, ISO 14001.
   BSI said Italy is a significant market for management system certification. Citing the ISO Survey of Certifications 2007, Italy has the second highest number of ISO 9001 certifications in the world and ranks fourth for ISO 14001 certifications.
