BTC CALLS FOR DEBATE ON ISSUES FACING AIR INDUSTRY

The Business Travel Coalition has called for debate on what it said are differing issues that confront the air industry for both cargo and passenger sectors.

The BTC states that, thus far in 2002, industry and press focus has been 'almost exclusively on aviation security.'

The BTC stresses that there are other issues the industry must face and work with, like airline structure reform, labor reform, and foreign ownership law reform, if the industry is to emerge from its current crisis.

In an outline recently published on the Internet, the BTC also adds that agreement for a fully liberalized European Union and U.S. trade regime for air cargo transport may take up to 10 years to solidify. This and other observations on the air cargo and air travel industry can be found on the BTC    Web site at http://www.btctravelogue.comissues.htm
