The Port of Busan saw container volume rise 16.4 percent in September, to 1.3 million TEUs, according to the Busan Port Authority.
For the year, the port’s volume has risen 13.6 percent, to 12 million TEUs.
Export volume in September rose 13.9 percent, to 346,648 TEUs (though growth in September was flat compared to August, when there was export volume of 344,031 TEUs). Transshipment volume rose 22.4 percent, to 613,279 TEUs.
Busan’s New Port development handled 629,421 TEUs in September, 47.6 percent of total port volume.
