Bush in Miami for trade speech

President Bush is scheduled to give a speech in Miami today on U.S. trade policy, stressing the need for free trade and competition, and focusing specifically on the need to approve pending trade agreements with Latin American nations.

Bush was scheduled to speak at the downtown Radisson Hotel at 2 p.m. A White House spokesman said Thursday the speech would focus primarily on trade, free trade agreements with Latin America and South Korea, and would provide a warning against protectionism.

Bush was also scheduled to attend a private luncheon with members of the Republican National Committee at Pinellas Park, near Tampa, before heading to Miami.
