Buttrey to serve as interim STB chairman
The Surface Transportation Board voted unanimously to elect board member W. Douglas Buttrey to serve as the agency’s chairman until President Bush designates an individual for this post.
Buttrey becomes interim chairman, effective when current STB Chairman Roger Nober leaves the agency on Jan. 3.
The STB also voted unanimously to elect board member Francis P. Mulvey to serve as interim vice chairman after Nober’s departure.
