C.H. Robinson acquires LXSI Services, opens SoCal branches

C.H. Robinson acquires LXSI Services, opens SoCal branches Minnesota third-party logistics giant C.H. Robinson said Wednesday it has acquired LXSI Services, a domestic air and expedited services firm based in Compton, Calif.
   Moving quickly to integrate LXSI's operations, C.H. Robinson also announced the formation of two new branches: C.H. Robinson Air Logistics and C.H. Robinson Long Beach.
   C.H. Robinson said that all LXSI employees have been offered positions with the new branches, and LXSI founders Dave Hall and Andi Salazar-Hall will remain. Hall will lead the development and sales effort of the C.H. Robinson Air Logistics services and Salazar-Hall was named to manage the C.H. Robinson Long Beach branch.
   Financial details of the acquisition were not released. However, C.H. Robinson said LXSI reported 2006 revenues of $25 million. In addition to acquiring the LXSI customer base, which includes firms in the health care, entertainment, technology, financial services and retail industries, the deal included LXSI's 85,000-square-foot facility in Compton.
   The $6.6 billion-per-year C.H. Robinson is one of the world's largest non-asset-based 3PLs, with a network of more than 7,000 professionals in 217 offices in North America, Europe, Asia and South America.
