C.H. Robinson buys Rosemont, Quality Logistics

C.H. Robinson Worldwide, already a leading produce sourcing and non-asset-based third-party logistics company, said Tuesday it has acquired two additional produce industry companies: Rosemont Farms Corp. Inc., a produce marketing company; and Quality Logistics LLC, a non-asset-based logistics sister company that focuses on produce transportation.

Robinson said Rosemont would augment C.H. Robinson's existing regional grower programs. Quality Logistics primarily focuses on refrigerated and less-than-truckload transportation.

The two companies are headquartered in Boca Raton, Fla., and combined have about 100 employees. Both were established in 1999 by Andrew Schwartz, Frank Segui and Don Brodie. Schwartz and Segui will continue with the company in similar management roles.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
