C.H. Robinson Q3 profit 7.5% higher

C.H. Robinson Q3 profit 7.5% higher    Third-party logistics provider C.H, Robinson Worldwide reported third quarter net profit of $102.6 million, 7.5 percent more than the same 2009 period.
   Revenue in the quarter ending Sept. 30 was $2.4 billion, 24 percent more than in the same 2009 period. Transportation net revenue improved 8.6 percent to $336.6 million.
   By segment, the company reported year-over-year increases in third quarter net revenues as follows:
   ' Truck, up 6 percent.
   ' Intermodal, up 10 percent.
   ' Ocean transportation, up 27.3 percent; air transportation, up 37.8 percent.
   ' Other logistics services (primarily transportation management fees and customs brokerage fees), up 25.2 percent.
   ' Sourcing, about flat.
