C.H. Robinson sees 2nd-quarter profit jump

   C.H. Robinson Tuesday reported a 35 percent rise in net income during the second quarter to $82.3 million, compared to $66.6 million in the same quarter a year ago.

   The Minneapolis-based trucking and multimodal logistics provider’s operating income in the three months ended June 30 increased 24.9 percent to $129.8 million, up from $103.9 million last year. Revenue rose 10.5 percent to $1.88 billion, compared to $1.70 billion in the second quarter 2006.

   After six months, C.H. Robinson's net income was up 24.5 percent to $155.3 million with operating income improving 24.8 percent to $244.9 million and revenue up 9.3 percent to $3.49 billion.
