Camarillo biofuel firm signs deal with Vopak

Camarillo-based Kreido Biofuels Inc. Wednesday announced a long term liquids handling agreement with bulk logistics firm Vopak Terminal North America Inc.

   Under terms of the agreement, Vopak's Port of Wilmington, N.C. terminal will provide storage and vessel, barge, tank car and tank truck loading and unloading infrastructure to handle Kreido’s raw feedstocks, finished product and other liquids associated with the production of biodiesel.

   Kreido said in a release that the agreement is a major step in the firm's plan to have their first biodiesel plant operational in the first quarter of 2008.

   The agreement also includes a Kreido option for port land adjacent to the Vopak terminal. Rotterdam, Netherlands-based Vopak will be providing for the storage of Kreido’s biodiesel, glycerin and refined oil feedstocks, loading and unloading of these materials from vessel, barge, tank car and tank truck as well as providing for the liquids pipeline transport to be constructed between Kreido’s facility and Vopak’s terminal.

   Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
