Canadian conferences post rate increases
Carriers of the Canada United Kingdom and Canada Continental Eastbound Freight Conferences said they'll general rate increase, effective July 1.
Rates will increase $100 per 20-foot container and $150 per 40-foot container, applicable on all general cargo. The rate hike is in addition to a previously announced increase, effective Oct. 1, the conferences said in a statement.
“Eastbound volumes are improving and scheduled increases are intended to address the sharp declines in rates over the past number of years,” their statement said.
Members of the conferences are Atlantic Container Line AB, Canada Maritime Limited, Cast Group Services, Ltd., Hapag-Lloyd Container Linie GmbH, and Orient Overseas Container Line.
