Cargo management prepares for AA-US Airways merger

American Airlines Cargo has announced a new executive team that will take over once the carrier’s merger with US Airways is approved.
Kenji Hashimoto, who currently serves as the president of AA Cargo, will be the new senior vice president of regional carriers. Hashimoto has been the head of cargo since May 2012, when he replaced the retiring Dave Brooks. The current managing director of commercial planning and performance, Jim Butler, will take up the reigns as the new cargo head. Butler is a 16-year veteran of the airline industry.
Suzanne Boda, US Airways’ senior vice president of airport customer service for international and cargo, will takeover as AA’s senior vice president for Asia, Canada, Europe and Cargo.
“There are no immediate implications on American’s cargo customers, given the two companies will continue to operate as separate entities even after the merger closes,” according to an American Airlines statement. – Jon Ross
