Cargo ship with Indian crew lost in Black Sea
A Panamanian-flagged cargo vessel carrying steel bundles from Russia to Turkey went missing in the Black Sea last week, officials in India’s shipping industry confirmed over the weekend.
The vessel, manned by 25 Indian crewmembers, lost radio contact Feb. 18. Despite search efforts by Turkish authorities, the vessel has not been found, with only “a life raft of the vessel drifting some five nautical miles off the Turkish Coast” having been found so far, the Times of India reported.
The crew was provided by Mumbai-based Pelican Marine.
