Cargoitalia adds Dubai, Chicago to network

Cargoitalia adds Dubai, Chicago to network    All-cargo airline Cargoitalia said Tuesday it will add two new destinations to its network over the next two weeks.
   From Jan. 16, the airline will start a bi-weekly service from its hub in Milan to Dubai. The Middle East hub will be added through an outbound stop on the airline's existing service to Hong Kong. On the inbound leg, the service will stop at Almaty, Kazakhstan.
   From Jan. 21, Cargoitalia will add Chicago to its Thursday transatlantic service, now operating from Milan to New York to Chicago and back to Milan. Chicago replaces the original Toronto stop. The Sunday transatlantic service will continue to operate with Toronto.
   'These new destinations are designed to create more revenue opportunities from our existing operations, and to test demand,' said Roberto Gilardoni, commercial director. 'Subject to support for the revised services, and because our operations have now bedded in so well, we are considering stepping up transatlantic operations with the addition of a Sunday service routing Milan-New York-Chicago-Milan, plus a third weekly departure to Hong Kong.'
   Cargoitalia said it has also provisionally scheduled its third MD11F aircraft for June, with the aircraft likely to be deployed on services to and from Shanghai.
