Officials expect the weekly flights to be loaded with freight from the healthcare, telecommunications and natural resources sector. They also expect a fair amount of perishable traffic, but are most excited about the oil and gas export potential from Mali and the other African destinations.
The service will make use of Bamako Airport’s cargo terminal, which was built in 2010, and will contribute to the airport’s 10,000 tons of yearly cargo activity.
