Cargolux adds export service from Rickenbacker

The all-cargo airline is augmenting its service offerings at the Ohio airport this month.    Cargolux Airlines will begin carrying export cargo from Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus, Ohio, three times per week beginning Dec. 18, almost 18 months after it began import services from Hong Kong using Boeing 747-8 freighters. The Luxembourg-based airline said there is significant interest in moving U.S. exports to its hub for the European market or transfer to other flights in its global network. 
   Cargolux added a third weekly frequency from Hong Kong in May.
   In March, Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways began twice-weekly 747-8 service into Rickenbacker, which is a growing freight hub for Ohio and surrounding states.
