Cargolux adds second Kazakhstan city to network
Cargolux Airlines International S.A. will add a second service to energy-rich Kazakhstan with a new weekly flight to Atyrau in the west of the Central Asian country, effective Nov. 26.
In cooperation with Silk Way Airlines of Baku, Azerbaijan, the service will depart Luxembourg on Monday evenings with arrival in Atyrau, via Baku, on Tuesday mornings. From Atyrau, Cargolux provides trucking services to Aktau, Aktobe and Uralsk.
After Atyrau, the flight continues to Shanghai and then returns to Luxembourg on Wednesday mornings.
Cargolux said the outbound flight is mainly supported by major customers specialized in oil-drilling logistics. The return flights from Asia carry products such as IT related components, telecommunications and audio equipment, machinery and textiles.
The airline started a service to Almaty in August and is represented in Kazakhstan by its general sales agent, Nomad Cargo and handling partner Air Cargo Service.
