Cargolux to add fifth weekly flight to Budapest

Luxembourg-based Cargolux Airlines International S.A., Europe's largest all-cargo carrier, will in mid-December add a fifth weekly frequency into the East European city of Budapest, Hungary.

The first additional flight will be made Dec. 14 and every Friday thereafter at 10 p.m. from Taipei via Bangkok, with arrival in Budapest on Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. Departure from Budapest is at 10:15 a.m., with arrival in Luxembourg at 12:05 p.m.

Cargolux will also adjust the schedule of its four existing flights, to be operated out of Taipei on Mondays via Bangkok and out of Hong Kong on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

'With this additional service, the company aims to meet the demand for increased capacity, especially from the markets in Taipei and Bangkok. At the European end, the forwarders in Budapest and surrounding regions are supporting this fifth weekly flight that will further boost their exports,' Cargolux said.

The airline said that commodities flown to and from Budapest range from high tech, audio and telecommunications equipment to textiles, machinery, art work, handicraft, pharmaceuticals and perishable goods.

Cargolux operates a fleet of 14 Boeing 747-400 freighters covering 90 destinations worldwide.
