CargoWise expands further into China

   The logistics technology provider CargoWise said Friday it has deepened its reach into mainland China with the successful adoption of its ediEnterprise software platform by Hong Kong-based freight forwarder S-Cargo Group Co.
   CargoWise, which specializes in technology solutions for logistics service providers (LSPs), said the integration and adoption project began in March by installing ediEnterprise in S-Cargo’s Hong Kong headquarters. The two have since expanded their efforts to bring the EDI service to S-Cargo’s Shanghai, Ningbo, and Shenzhen offices in mainland China.
   S-Cargo Director Adrian Chu said that the efforts have helped S-Cargo to standardize operations, improve communications, and maintain consistent service levels across its operations in China and among agents in other countries.
   “The hosted ediEnterprise platform has allowed us to consolidate our operations on a single global database,” said Chu.
   Mike Coney, vice president of business development for CargoWise Asia , said that S-Cargo is just one of its partners in mainland China using the using ediEnterprise with CargoWise Hosting services, and that he expects to see an accelerated adoption as the company ramps up efforts in the region.
   “The S-Cargo deal is significant as it demonstrates the capability of ediEnterprise in the Chinese market and the capacity of CargoWise Hosting facilities, based in Australia, to deliver into the Asian region,” Coney said.
