CAROTRANS APPOINTS HISANAGA NATIONAL SALES MANAGER FOR JAPAN TRADE

CaroTrans International has appointed Norihiro Hisanaga to national sales manager for the Japan trade.

Hisanaga, who is based in Los Angeles, will solicit import and export sales for the Japan trade and around the United States. Before joining CaroTrans, Hisanaga was a sales representative for Seino Logix in Japan, a long-time partner of the Union, N.J.-based non-vessel-operating common

carrier.

CaroTrans has also expanded its partnership with Seino. The two NVOs began working together in October 1998 when CaroTrans was named import agent for Seino. Last year, Seino picked CaroTrans’ Chicago and New Jersey offices as its exclusive import agents for cargo destined to these areas.

CaroTrans recently increased its service to three weekly sailings from the Port of Kobe/Osaka, and twice weekly sailings from the Port of Tokyo/Yokohama. Similarly, CaroTrans has doubled its volumes from the United States to Japan and the NVO has “enjoyed a steady increase” in freight volumes via all-water transport from the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts to Japan.
