CaroTrans names executives

New Zealand-based Mainfreight Ltd. has announced a new senior management structure for its CaroTrans International unit, designed to allow for global expansion of the brand.




Howard



   ' Greg Howard has been promoted to global chief executive officer for CaroTrans International, with responsibility of capitalizing on opportunities around the globe and building the CaroTrans brand and global non-vessel-operating common carrier network, including acquisitions and agency development. Howard will continue to operate from his office in Union, NJ.

   ' Michael Forkenbrock has been named to succeed Howard as president and is responsible for the continued success and development of the brand throughout North America.

   ' Richard Burke has been named vice president, sales and marketing. He joined CaroTrans in 2006 as branch manager of the Atlanta office and most recently was regional sales director. Burke will remain in the Atlanta office.

   ' Matt Spartz will become vice president, operations. He joined CaroTrans in 2000 and is based in Union.

CaroTrans operates 12 U.S. offices staffed by more than 170 employees. (For more on CaroTrans see the July American Shipper, page 46.)
