CaroTrans opens Le Havre office

   Non-vessel-operating common carrier CaroTrans has opened a new branch in Le Havre, France, with container freight stations in Paris and Lyon.
   “This new hub office in Europe creates the foundation for future growth and supports CaroTrans’ overall network of global operations,” the company said. “Le Havre is an important European gateway for CaroTrans’ full container load (FCL) and less than container load (LCL) services to and from points in the U.S., Asia, Middle East, South America and Canada and is a natural platform for freight moving to West Africa from these regions. Initially, CaroTrans’ Le Havre office will support FCL and LCL exports from the U.S. with exports from France to the U.S. soon to follow.”
   The Le Havre office is the second new office for CaroTrans in 2012. The company opened an office in Seattle last month to serve freight forwarders in the Pacific Northwest.
   “We are committed to strengthening our presence in Europe with strategically placed branches in key markets,” said Greg Howard, CaroTrans’global chief executive officer, in a statement. “The next phase of our expansion in Europe will likely be setting up CaroTrans offices in Paris and Marseilles.”
