Carriers boost vessel size on China/India link    Evergreen, Wan Hai and Hapag-Lloyd are boosting the capacity of ships on their joint China-India Express (CIX), according to Alphaliner.
   The carriers operate the four-ship loop between Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shekou, Singapore, Klang, Colombo and Nhava Sheva, with NYK Line subsidiary TSK Line also taking slots, according to ComPair Data.
   Ship sizes for three of the four ships will increase from an average of 2,500 TEUs to 4,200 TEUs when two Wan Hai vessels and one Evergreen ship of that size are rotated in. The fourth ship, a 3,300-TEU Hapag-Lloyd vessel, will remain.
   It's the second increase in capacity on the service since June, when the carriers replaced four 1,500 to 1,800-TEU ships with the 2,500-TEU ships.
