Carriers drop Qingdao call due to fog    A Zim-operated Asia/Black Sea service on which the Grand Alliance and China Shipping take slots will drop a call in Qingdao later this month due to fog and congestion at the Chinese port.
   Alliance member Hapag-Lloyd announced the dropped call late last week. The EMX service will have a revised rotation of Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Da Chan Bay, Port Kelang, Colombo, Haifa, Ashdod, Istanbul, Novorossiysk, Constanta, Novorossiysk, Istanbul, Haifa, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Port Kelang and Busan, as of July 27. The service operates with 10 vessels with an average capacity of 4,312 TEUs.
   Earlier this month French container line CMA CGM warned of worsening congestion in Qingdao due to foggy conditions.
