Casey to give up seat on ExpeditorsÆ board
Expeditors International of Washington announced that its longest serving independent outside board director James J. Casey would not seek re-election to the position when his term expires next year.
Casey has served on Expeditors' board since the Seattle-based logistics services company went public in September 1984. He also serves as the head of Expeditors' Audit Committee.
'Given where I am in my personal life, after consultation with my family and with management and other board members, this seems to be the logical point to begin this transition,' Casey said in a statement.
In addition to serving on Expeditors' board, prior to his retirement, Casey served in a series of executive positions with Control Data Corp., General Mills, Eddie Bauer, Starbucks and Avia.
