Casper hub opens to wind turbine shipments    A new transportation logistics hub located at Casper, Wyo., has started to receive its first shipments of wind turbine components.

CLH Global's logistics hub is situated on 700 acres in Casper, Whyo.

   'Casper is centrally located in Wyoming, making it an ideal site to ship components into the state,' said Rich Fairservis, president of Casper Logistics Hub (CLH Global). 'There are wind farms throughout Wyoming.'
   The first wind turbines to arrive at the Casper facility were produced overseas by General Electric and shipped to U.S. seaports for movement to Wyoming by rail transport. CLH Global expects to receive components for more than 200 wind turbines annually.
   'GE is bringing their components into CLH Global for a wind project in Glenrock, Wyo.,' Fairservis told American Shipper. 'They are also stockpiling components for future projects in Wyoming and elsewhere in the U.S.'
   CLH Global is situated on 700 acres of industrial land located near the BNSF rail line, a foreign trade zone and major midwestern highways. The operation recently opened a 50-acre site exclusively for the handling and storage of wind turbine components.
   At this site, transload services for these heavy, oversized components are provided by Casper Transloading, Bighorn Divide & Wyoming Railroad, and Energy Transportation. The facility offers an array of heavy cargo-handling equipment, including cranes with lifts ranging from 80 tons to 600 tons.
   In addition to wind turbine components, CLH Global provides 24-hour transloading, trucking and storage for a variety of other commodities, including building supplies, rock, resins, coated petroleum pipe, drill casings, coal and large electrical components. ' Chris Gillis
