Catapult inks Ecu-Line deal

   Logistics software and rate management software developer Catapult International said Tuesday it has won a long-term contract with global non-vessel operating common carrier Ecu International to provide a cloud-based technology system for the global ocean consolidation services company.
   Antwerp-based Ecu-Line will use Catapult’s rate and quotation management system, where employees and customers are able to manage their global shipping rates from one web-based system.
   “As a global leader in ocean less-than-container load (LCL) services, it is important that we also branch out to full container services to meet our customers’ needs,” said Kris De Witte, managing director of Ecuhold NV. “Catapult will help us gain global visibility with a rate repository system that all of our offices have access to the best rate and transit time options from point A to point B.”
   The Catapult QMS platform will serve as a centralized rate/transit time hub for their offices, allowing Ecu-Line users to search rates, email quotes, run request for quotations, and produce business intelligence reports.
   “Obviously, we are excited to have one of the largest ocean consolidators as a client,” said Jeff Ferguson, vice president of global solutions at Catapult. “Our global footprint of users is expanding and having Ecu-Line on board will benefit our current NVOCC customers with rate sharing and collaboration.”
