COSCO Container Lines said Thursday it is raising rates on shipments from the Far East to Australia effective Jan. 1. The increase, $500 per 20-foot container and $1,000 per 40-foot or 40-foot high-cube container, is applicable to origins in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea.
