Cathay air freight up 22.9% in March

Cathay air freight up 22.9% in March    Cathay Pacific and sister airline Dragonair saw March air freight volume increase 22.9 percent to 159,270 tons.
   The airlines' cargo and mail load factor was 81.7 percent, a 13.8 percent rise, while capacity was up 0.7 percent. Year to date, the airlines' volume improved 24.1 percent compared to a capacity decline of 1.1 percent.
   “Demand in March was strong with improved yield and particularly high load factors,' said James Woodrow, Cathay Pacific's general manager of cargo for mainland China and Hong Kong. 'Regional traffic continued its good start to the year. Additional freighter flights were added in the second half of March to cope with the peak demand and the outlook for April continues to be promising.”
