Cathay Pacific boosts Dallas/Atlanta freighter flights, cancels flights

Cathay Pacific Airways will next Monday add a fourth weekly freighter service between Hong Kong, Dallas and Atlanta.

The Hong Kong/Dallas/Atlanta service uses Boeing 747-400 Freighter aircraft. “Since the launch of the route last November, demand to Dallas and Fort Worth has been consistently strong,” said Ron Mathison, Cathay Pacific’s director and general manager cargo.

The Hong Kong-based airline’s other freighter destinations in the United States are Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and New York.

In a separate development, strong winds generated by Typhoon Prapiroon have forced Cathay Pacific to cancel all flights to and from Hong Kong until 9 a.m. Friday morning at the earliest.
