Cathay Pacific announced plans Thursday to add up to 13 freighter aircraft, including one new Boeing 747-400F scheduled for delivery in February 2005. The airline also placed orders with Boeing to convert six passenger aircraft to a freighter configuration between 2005 and 2007, with an option for six more.
Cathay Pacific has a fleet of five 747-400F and six 747-200 aircraft in service. It is the sixth-largest air cargo carrier in terms of tonnage carried.
