Cathay Pacific orders six 747-400 Extended Range Freighters from Boeing

Cathay Pacific orders six 747-400 Extended Range Freighters from Boeing    Cathay Pacific Airways today placed its largest order for new freighter aircraft with six Boeing 747-400 Extended Range Freighters. The Hong Kong-based airline did not disclose any financial details.
   The six 747-400ERFs are scheduled for delivery between May 2008 and April 2009 and will be deployed on trunk routes to North America.
   The 747-400ERF has a maximum payload of 112,760 kilograms and can carry 9,980 kilograms more than other 747-400 freighters on long-range flights at maximum takeoff weight. It has a maximum range of 9,200 kilometers, about 525 kilometers farther than other 747-400 freighters.
   The airline operates 97 aircraft, 14 of which are freighters, with one 747-400 Boeing Converted Freighters, six 747-400 and seven 747-200 freighters. Cathay also has an outstanding order of five 747-400BCFs.
