Cathay’s November cargo up 15.2%    Cathay Pacific carried 100,130 tons of cargo in November, up 15.2 percent from the same month in 2004.
   The Hong Kong-based airline said its freight traffic was boosted by an increase in transshipment cargo to and from Shanghai. The cargo load factor was down 0.2 points to 68.7 percent.
   “Our new Dallas and Atlanta service got off to a very good start with full loads out of Hong Kong. The first flight was just 49 kilograms short of its maximum capacity,” said Ron Mathison, Cathay Pacific’s director and general manager cargo. “Still, the peak yearend period is attracting a lot of competitor capacity, depressing yield and making inbound flights to Hong Kong harder to fill. High fuel costs continue to weigh heavy on operations.”
   For the year to date, the airline has carried 1.01 million tons of cargo, up 13.9 percent from 889,267 tons carried after 11 months last year.
