CBP introduces new warehouse summary procedures

Customs and Border Protection Miami Service Port Acting Director Richard Vigna said Tuesday that new procedures for submission of warehouse summaries and withdrawals will take effect Aug. 27.

At that time, all warehouse summary packages must be put into a letter-size, straight-cut, manila file folder and deposited into the CBP 'ELECT' drop box. The 11-digit entry number, followed by the year, must be clearly printed and place in the left-hand corner of the folder tab. Filers can either print out the entry number on a label and attach it to the folder, or hand print the number in clear and readable writing.

In addition, all quota warehouse withdrawals must be deposited in the drop box of the Miami Customs Clearance Center, which is labeled 'All Other Live Entries.' Vigna said filers should continue to submit the withdrawals in a blue file folder.

Improper delivery of withdrawals will result in delays in the reporting of quota and release merchandise, he noted.

Anyone with questions should call Larissa Acedvedo, EST 1 entry supervisor, at (305) 869-2676; or Sandra Gomez, EST 2 entry supervisor, at (305) 869-2661.
