CBP names ACE Trade Ambassadors

CBP names ACE Trade Ambassadors    U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Friday named 16 industry representatives as Trade Ambassadors and another 10 as technical advisors to the agency's ongoing development of the Automated Commercial Environment.
   Trade ambassadors are the main point of communication between CBP and the international freight industry regarding the requirements and progress of ACE, which is being built to improve cargo processing, targeting, and inter-agency data sharing. Their main role is to form consensus on ACE business and process changes.
   The ambassadors come from various industry sectors, including importers, brokers and logistics providers.
      In a message to members of the Trade Leadership Council, Cindy Allen, executive director of the ACE Business Office, said the agency looked for expertise in cargo release and air manifest as those functions become the next focus of the ACE development effort.

   The TLC is a streamlined version of the 300-person Trade Support Network.
