CBP offers C-TPAT training

CBP offers C-TPAT training    U.S. Customs and Border Protection said it will hold a training seminar for companies participating in the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism April 18-21 at the Hotel Intercontinental in Miami April 18-21. It is open to certified C-TPAT members only.
   The agenda has not been set, but likely will focus on new C-TPAT security criteria, validation process, risk assessment, benefits, how to identify anomalies in the global supply chain, best practices, global terrorism threats, contraband smuggling trends, and concealment methods.
   CBP said it will not charge a registration fee, but space is limited to 500 individuals. Selections will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis and one’s status as a C-TPAT member.
   CBP held two training seminars in 2003 that proved popular with the trade community, which has urged CBP to offer training sessions again.
