CBP opens registration for Trade Symposium

U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s 2016 West Coast Trade Symposium will be held May 25-26 in Phoenix, Ariz.

Registration is now open for U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s West Coast Trade Symposium, scheduled for May 25-26 in Phoenix.
The agency gave the trade community a heads up about the event two weeks ago through its e-mail messaging service, but did not provide specific details about the agenda or venue.
The Trade Symposium is a major outreach event during which officials update hundreds of trade compliance professionals about initiatives and industry partnerships to improve cargo processing efficiency, supply chain security and enforcement of trade laws. The event will be held at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. The theme is “Trade Facilitation and Enforcement: The Path to Economic Competitiveness.”
   Registration costs $182.
CBP held its regular East Coast Trade Symposium in Baltimore last November. The West Coast version of the event was held in Tacoma, Wash., in May.
