The addition of the new vessel confirms the continuing trend toward direct services between South America and the Far East.
CCNI said the vessel has a capacity of 3,100 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), with 500 reefer plugs. The company noted it has also purchased 1,300 reefer containers to bolster its container fleet.
CCNI now operates services to northern and southern Asia, as well as its U.S. and Europe services. It now has a fleet of 29 vessels.
