The Port of New Orleans said the new venture, called New Orleans Terminals, will operate half of the Napoleon Avenue Container Terminal. Ports America also operates at the terminal.
The port said the venture could result in further efficiencies and higher cargo volumes. New Orleans Terminals also operates the new Napoleon Avenue Intermodal Terminal, which began operation Dec. 1, 2007.
“We are thrilled New Orleans Terminals made this commitment to the Port of New Orleans,” said Gary LaGrange, the port’s president and chief executive officer. “The port is working diligently and aggressively to expand container capacity through additional development at Napoleon Avenue to meet the growing demands of our customers.”
