Ceres Terminals acquires Florida stevedore
Ceres Terminals Inc. said it has acquired R.O. White & Co. Inc., a stevedoring firm licensed to operate in Miami and Port Everglades, Fla. Financial terms were not disclosed.
R.O. White & Co. was founded 10 years ago by R.O. 'Del' White, a long-time stevedoring veteran of South Florida. White will remain as vice president of the company.
Ceres is one of the largest stevedoring and terminal operating companies in North America, with operations on the U.S. East and Gulf coasts, the Great Lakes, the St. Lawrence Seaway and coastal Canada. The company was acquired in 2002 by Nippon Yusen Kaisa.
